This album was recorded in early 2012 at two of East Coast Australia’s premier venues,
‘the Basement’ in Sydney - January the 9th and ‘Brisbane Jazz Club’ - February the 3rd.
Our aim was to capture live performances of the original tunes we had released on our debut album ‘Journeys’ in 2011 and add a few more of the songs we love to interpret. We also wanted to take a little sampler of Australian music and culture with us on our European and UK tour in August/September 2012.
We were assisted in our endeavour by very talented sound engineers Chris Mysinski at ‘the Basement’ and Mark Smith at ‘Brisbane Jazz Club’. Mark Smith of REAL Productions also mixed and mastered the tracks from both venues.
The last track features Ewan Mackenzie and Kay Sullivan of Paris Dreaming who joined us at the Brisbane Jazz Club for this version of the Astor Piazzolla song ‘Libertango’ with Grace Jones lyrics.
The photographs on the album cover were taken by the fabulous Elouise van riet-gray.
